So Much to Do
Student Tutoring Available
There is no time like the present for our students to take advantage of tutorial time. Teachers have posted tutorial times on our school website as well as within their classrooms for the students. If your student is needing a little help with homework, has missed a lesson, or just wants to follow up with the teacher, please be sure to have him/her stop by. Students are allowed to report to the classroom as early as 8:00 if a tutorial is posted and we can call a room to see if the teacher is available otherwise. If your student knows he will be reporting to tutorials in the morning, please get a pass from the teacher the day before. All teacher email addresses are available in our staff directory for you to contact if you ever have questions. Take advantage of going over your student's planner and be sure to ask about homework and look for upcoming due dates and tests.
School PIctures
The kids looked great on Friday for our fall school pictures. We will let you know as soon as the Make Up day is scheduled so your student can be included in the 2016-2017 Wildcat Yearbook now available for purchase with Ms. Anderson at kendra.anderson@kellerisd.net

Keller ISD College Colors Day, September 21 It's Finally Here!!!
College Colors Day is an annual celebration dedicated to promoting college readiness as well as the traditions and spirit that embody the college experience by inviting fans across America to wear their favorite college colors/gear.
Keller ISD will be participating in this district-wide event by encouraging students, faculty, staff, and administrators to dress in their favorite school attire on Wednesday, September 21.
Use #KISDCollegeColors to post your pictures to Twitter and follow throughout the day to see how Keller supports!
Keller ISD AVID hopes you will join in as we kick-off the school year with a focus on college readiness.
Any Cat class who has 100% participation in College Colors Day will receive a special treat from Ms. Gonzales on Friday. Let's see how many classes earn that honor!

- Organization and Planning for a Successful Student
In order to teach organization and planning we ask that all students have the 4 inch binder that is used to compile all course work. In addition, we have supplied each student with a planner in which teachers will be requiring the students record their assignments, due dates, and other important information. Please help us in asking your student to show you the planner so you may review their homework and help them with projects and upcoming tests.
Support Education Foundation on Giving Day Sept. 22
Give back to your schools and your community on Thursday, September 22, through North Texas Giving Day and the Keller ISD Education Foundation.
The Keller ISD Education Foundation supports all 41 campuses in Keller ISD through classroom teaching grants, student scholarships, and District-wide academic programs. Last year alone, the Foundation awarded grants totaling $49,674.26 to 34 educators across KISD.
One hundred percent of your donation will go directly to improving programs in Keller ISD and will be multiplied on North Texas Giving Day. Bookmark this link:https://northtexasgivingday.org/npo/keller-isd-education-foundation, and on September 22, donate to keep Keller ISD a district where exceptional opportunities are available to all students.

Counselor's Corner
Fossil Hill is blessed to have a spectacular team of counselors working with our students. They are always available to speak to you and/or your student so don't hesitate to call us at (817)744-3050.
Our counselors regularly present lessons to our students on a variety of topics. The week of September 26, they will present Signs of Suicide to all 7th graders through the CAT Advisory period. 7th graders will be receiving the Opt Out letter on Monday from their Cat teacher. If you do not want your student to participate in the lesson on September 26th, please complete the Opt Out letter and return it to school by Friday, Sept 23rd.

Nurse's Notes
Please feel free to reach out to "Nurse Mac" anytime at Rocio.mcalexander@kellerisd.net or at (817) 744-3050.
As a Reminder:
Students are not allowed to carry medications with them throughout the school day. All medications require a form to be completed and submitted to the nurse's office. This will allow the medication to be given in the nurse's office.

Traffic Flow
In an effort to ensure student safety, we ask that when you are dropping off and/or picking up your student that you please use the one way traffic flow in the front circle drive at the front of the building. The side parking lots are for faculty and staff and are not to be used for students with the exception of campus events.
AM Drop off
**Please make sure you are in the correct lane when dropping off in the morning. Left lane turns left and right lane turns right upon exiting the circle.
Both lanes are open for student drop off. Please make sure all vehicles have stopped before your student opens the door and you are watching for the signal in the cross walk. We would like to have the front 6 cars releasing students at the same time in order to move the flow of traffic.
PM Pick Up
We ask that you use the right hand lane while waiting for your student. Please do not block traffic flow waiting in the left hand lane. Once your student has entered the vehicle, you may pull into the left hand lane in order to exit the circle drive. Cross walk help will signal when it is safe to proceed through the cross walk towards the exit onto Staghorn.
Fossil Hill PTA

Casey's Kids Community Event
The 19th annual Keller ISD Casey's Kids Fun Run will be held Saturday, November 14, at the KISD Natatorium.
Proceeds from the 5K/1-mile run benefit are kept locally to benefit Keller ISD families and are distributed by KISD School Counselors.
The event began as an idea by long-time KISD counselor Janie Casey who wanted to create a way for families to support each other by providing monetary donations toward purchasing necessities for KISD students in need, all while providing an outlet for enjoyment, exercise, and socialization. The result was a "Fun Run" where families could participate together to support a worthy and noble cause.
Early registration ends Friday, November 6, to guarantee a Casey's Kids Fun Run T-shirt. If you are turning in a paper copy to your school, please have it there by 10:00am. If you are registering online, please do so by 11:59pm.
After November 6, the price increases to $30 for all 5K entries and $25 for all 1 mile entries, including late registration, which will be accepted up until 7:30 a.m. the day of the event.
The school with the most participation, including adults and "virtual" runners, will be awarded the Casey's Cup to display in their trophy case until the running of the 20th Annual Casey's Kids Fun Run.
Fossil Ridge Sports
Fossil Ridge is now a member of District 3-6A UIL alignment along with other Keller ISD high schools, Haltom, Weatherford, and Abilene. The 3-6A District Executive Committee has determined that no outside food or drink be allowed into the stadium. The decision for this new rule is primarily to ensure the safe environment for all patrons.
