May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Fort Bend ISD families are invited to participate in a special, live end-of-year event, “Preparing for what’s next: A conversation about coping with loss and supporting students as they prepare for a strong start to the next school year.” During this special event, Dr. Dupre will speak with award-winning compassion coach, author and FBISD graduate, Laura Jack.
They will discuss ways for students and families to process their feelings of grief and loss related to the pandemic, as well as tools that will help parents prepare their children and families for the uncertainty about what the next school year will look like. The webinar will also include a live Q&A.
The event will be held Tuesday, May 19 at 7 p.m., and can be accessed at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81008524114 and will also be streamed at www.fortbendisd.com/ljchat. A recording of the event will be available following the live broadcast.
The Zoom webinar will be limited to the first 1,000 participants, but all will be able to view the live stream.
As a reminder, families may access the District’s mental health resources and tools online.

Snap & Read
Attached below is information that outlines how students can install Snap and Read on their devices (computer or phone). Snap and Read is a text to speech tool that reads aloud written text. It works well within Schoology and when accessing webpages. It reads PDF text as well. Snap and Read installs easily and would be a great support for students who require oral administration or struggle with decoding.
