Sharing the Homeschool Heart

Sharing the Homeschool Heart....Homeschool Styles and Preferences.

So many families start their homeschool journey by pulling away from a traditional public model and then place the exact same expectations on themselves and their child that the public school has. Oftentimes this leads to a lot of frustration for everyone. Let me help you avoid that trap by considering a couple of things before moving forward as a homeschooler.

First, decide where you are going. What is the plan, your goals, hopes, dreams? What are you aiming for with home education? Next, how do you plan to get there?

Just asking yourself these questions and spending some time writing out your answers can prepare you to be better equipped to start this journey.

After you have done your homeschool brainstorm session, consider heading over to our Riverside County Parent Resource Site. In the drop-down menu under Learning Styles, you will find tests to take to help you determine your homeschool style and philosophy of education. Take some tests and marvel at the results!

Once your path is a little clearer, reach out for curriculum suggestions based on your learning preferences from your HST and us, your Family Liaisons! Creating firm foundations and knowing your "why" is an excellent place to start! Let us help you on your journey

This Week's OSP (Online Subscription Package): Elephango

The 2019-2020 Online Subscription Package (OSP) options are finalized, and we’re spotlighting every option - every week!

This week we look at Elephango! This is geared towards TK through 12th grade.

Elephango is a TK-12th grade home-school curriculum resource. It caters to students' needs based on their learning style and allows parents to filter and find content based on grade-level, subject, resource type, and even amount of time the lesson will take to complete.

Elephango allows parents to assign lessons based on their student's learning and personality styles. When your student starts Elephango, their learning style and personality type are determined in order to cater to their specific needs and interests.

For more details on this OSP option and all the other OSP subscriptions, head over to the OSP Handbook.

Inspire Approved Vendor Spotlight!

This Week's Vendor Spotlight: Fingerprints Youth Museum

You Can . . .

* Have a Birthday Party * Attend One of Our Many Special Events *

* Rent the Museum * Volunteer *

WE BELIEVE that children are born curious and eager to learn about their environment and their world. They aggressively seek sensory input in an effort to understand how things work. A well-rounded approach to learning must address this natural drive by providing our children opportunities to satisfy their need to play with, touch, and experience the world around them.

Fingerprints Youth Museum advocates this enriched method of teaching and learning by ensuring each child has the opportunity to physically manipulate objects in a controlled learning environment as a means of enhancing learning and retention.

Exhibits at Fingerprints Youth Museum are aligned with state standards and can be used to support lesson plans taught in the classroom. In addition, our exhibits are highly interactive and offer hours of fun for your children.

Fingerprints is a fun and safe environment for your children to explore and discover all this world has to offer:

Television Station, Doctors Office, Paleo Pit, Bank, Rock Wall, Veterinarian Office and Pet Adoption Center, Police, and Fire, Book Nook, Motion Machine, Craft Room, & Trash Truck & Waste Management, Walmart, MaxV02.

Enrichment item returns!

Dear Inspire Families,

Do you have enrichment items that you are looking to return this year? Please see the graphic for a list of locations and special events where you can drop off your non-consumables you no longer want or need. Please note, non-consumables do not need to be returned until you withdraw from our school, so this is purely voluntary.

Here is the Enrichment Return Item Form for your convenience:

Utilizing Enrichment Certificates for Service Orders

Please make sure to submit your service orders 2-4 weeks prior to the start of services to allow for sufficient time for your orders to be processed. Once you have your enrichment certificate and give it to your service vendor, that is when you can begin your services.

Inspiration Station Booking REMINDERS!

Did you know that you can log into your account on Inspiration Station to view ALL of your field trip bookings?? Checking my account is a regular part of my "Field Trip Booking Routine". I check this by selecting My Account from the drop-down in the upper right-hand corner of the Inspiration Station site. Here you will find all of the field trips you have booked. I advise everyone to always double check the field trip you had just booked by checking the amount and names of the tickets purchased. It's a great time to also input the trip date, time, and host contact information into your planner.

Happy Planning!

I am starting my eleventh year of homeschooling my big group! I have eight kids and six are enrolled in Inspire! I love to help families discover their perfect homeschool lifestyle based on the needs of each child and the family! We homeschool in a very eclectic and flexible way and always have. I desire to bring a deep understanding of the importance and enjoyment of home education to our awesome Riverside County Community of Homeschoolers! As always, reach out at any time for all your homeschool needs and concerns. I am always happy to help!

Audrey Everson

Hi everyone! I am a mom of 3 awesome kids ranging in age from 10 to 6 years old. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been married for 16 years. Having homeschooled our children over the last 6 years in 3 different states, I've found homeschooling here in California, especially with Inspire Charter, has been a great fit for our homeschool journey. I am grateful for our ability to homeschool so freely and I aspire to assist other families with their own homeschool adventures!

We want to hear from you!

What do you want to hear more about? Drop us an email!

We'd love to answer all of your questions in regards to homeschooling with Inspire
