Laura Weatherup - Speech and Language Pathologist
I was born and raised in Springfield, Mass. I graduated from Classical High School in Springfield, received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology from Westfield State College and my Master of Science degree in Speech/Language Pathology from the Sargent College of Allied Health Professions at Boston University. I moved to Eastham in 1993 and still live there with my husband, 2 teenage boys, a dog and 2 birds. I worked at the May Center in Chatham, Cape Cod Collaborative, Barnstable Public Schools and Orleans Elementary School prior to coming to work at Harwich Elementary School in 2009. This year, I look forward to sharing my time between Harwich and Chatham Elementary Schools. I love working with young children in preschool and the elementary grades. There is nothing more satisfying than watching a young child, who could not communicate their most basic wants and needs, learn to communicate and play with their friends.
Kelly McGuire - Speech and Language Pathologist
Hello! My name is Kelley McGuire and I am the speech language pathologist working with students in Kindergarten through fourth grade! I grew up spending my summers on Cape Cod and was thrilled to move to Dennis two years ago and join the Monomoy Sharks! I attended Boston College and graduated with Bachelor Degrees in Communication and Human Development. I studied abroad at the National University of Ireland, Galway and spent a lot of time traveling through Europe. After Boston College I started working as a special education assistant in an elementary school in Newton, Ma while I earned my Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Northeastern University. I enjoy reading on the beach, spending time with my family, and traveling.
Christy Lin - Occupational Therapist
Christy Lin grew up in East Brunswick, New Jersey with her Taiwanese parents, Anne and Wen Lin, and older brother, Terren. She spent much of her youth working at her parent’s restaurant and playing piano and violin. She was fortunate enough to attend and graduate from Smith College with a
Bachelor in Psychology and minor in art history. After college, Christy worked a variety of jobs in the healthcare field(EMT, clinical assistant, rehabilitation aide, etc.) before choosing to become an occupational therapist. She then obtained her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from Sage Graduate School. Christy is an avid runner and rock climber. She has competed in numerous relays around the country with her husband and team. When not out running, she loves to travel, cook, bake or tap into her more artistic side and take photos or paint. Christy currently lives in Harwich with her husband, Ryan, and daughter, Kira.
