SEL News from the desk of Amy Argubright
Hello! Each week, the SEL newsletter focuses on a different SEL competency and includes valuable resources and activities that you can use to promote well-being at home or in the classroom. This week's topic is Social Awareness and Empathy. Data suggest that a lack of empathy among youth is a serious problem. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, more than one-fourth of U.S. students say they have been bullied at school, where the most common types are verbal and social bullying. Finding ways to promote healthy emotional development during this time matters, especially since adolescence is important in shaping mental health into adulthood.

I am happy to be here to support the students, staff, and families of CMS! Have a great week!
