Mysterious Powder
Lab Report
iodine test (Right) and PR/acid test (top Left)
This picture shows what happened when we ran the iodine and pr/acid test. I believe that there is starch and that there is no acid in the mysterious powder.
Ph scale
This is the scale we used to determine what the Ph of the mysterious powder is.
Ph test
We calculated that the mysterious powder had a Ph of 9.
this is our physical property's test
we used this test to figure out whether or not the mysterious powder had crystal like powder in it. (it proved positive) Plus we used the physical property test to see if it had a certain smell or texture.
Results
I believe that we have a mixture of red, purple, and green. My first reason to believe that is when i saw small clear crystals (hopefully purple) in the physical property test. Second is when the iodine turned dark brown (hopefully the work of green) for if it didn't have starch in it the iodine would have turned a orange color. Last of all we believe that it has red because of the results we got when we did the PR test.
