BP: What caused you to get in the field of teaching, coaching, and now administration?
WP: Besides my mother, my teachers and coaches always had a huge influence on my life. I wanted to provide the same model for others that they did for me. I didn't really want to quit coaching, but I was lured into administration and have really enjoyed that process so far. This is my 5th year in administration and it's been great, but I miss the field and classroom at times!
BP: What attracted you to Breckenridge High School? What is your vision for our school?
WP: I've always known about Breckenridge because I have family from the area. The first order of business at BHS is to foster a positive, safe environment our teachers can teach in and our students can learn in. We want BHS to be a place where kids fake not being sick to come to school.
BP: Aside from your busy work schedule, do you have any hobbies or interests you would like to tell us about?
WP: I love watching the Aggies, Cowboys, and Red Raiders -- any sport. I enjoy taking my family camping, and I don't know if I'm much of a hunter, but I enjoy sitting in the stand.

BP: Are you married? If so, do you have any kids?
SP: I have been married for 7 wonderful years to my wife Courtney. We have a beautiful, sweet, and intelligent daughter named Casey; she is seven years old and enjoys ballet. We also have an energetic, handsome, and inquisitive son named Luke; he enjoys playing with baseballs, footballs, and basketballs.
BP: What caused you to get in the field of teaching, coaching, and now administration?
SP: I coached football and taught Social Studies. Where I grew up, there were many of my friends who did not have a father at home. I saw my dad, who was a coach and teacher, become the father figure to so many of those young men and women. This aspect of a student's life is so critical to long term successes, and my dad's involvement in their life totally altered the direction of some of my peers' lives. I noticed that I can make an impact on so many young people by choosing to follow in his footsteps. I chose to become an administrator to impact students by improving the school system in which they are served, and to support teachers so that they can meet the needs of each of the incredible young people in this school.
BP: What attracted you to Breckenridge High School? What is your vision for our school?
SP: My wife and I decided to move to the area. I saw a district in BISD that I could help to improve for the sake of each student on our campuses. My vision for this school is one where students receive a top notch education from the excellent educators on this campus, where students feel supported in all areas of their life, and one where students feel safe so that they can grow into the person they were meant to be.
BP: Aside from your busy work schedule, do you have any hobbies or interests you would like to tell us about?
SP: I enjoy spending time with my family, hunting, fishing, and rooting on the Aggies, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Cowboys.
