From the prinicpal....Tony White

This week is Nurses Appreciation Week. There are a lot of tough jobs out there, and one of the toughest in the world is nursing. Nurses get coughed on, sneezed on, bled on, vomited on (and more), cried on, and sometimes yelled at just for doing their jobs. Be it in the school, at the doctor's office, or the hospital, there is no question that nurses have a demanding, exhausting job. Yet, when you talk to these incredibly special people, they don't use the words "demanding" or "exhausting." They use words like "fulfilling," "rewarding," and "my passion." I want to take a moment to thank our own nurses, Gina Wicinski, Brittany Jensen, and Cathy Leone, for their amazing efforts, expertise, passion, and compassion each and everyday. Our Eagles are in great hands any time they need a nurse thanks to these incredible nurses, and I am so grateful to them for their awesome contributions to our Norton Creek community. They greet each Eagle with a smile and treat every student with empathy and great care each time they come in not feeling well, with a scrape on their knee, a bump on their head, a missing tooth (that goes home in those neat little treasure chests!), or a bee sting. When you have a chance, please, feel free to share your appreciation with our amazing nursing team here at Norton Creek!

Shifting gears to tomorrow, it's Basket Raffle Bash time! We have something for everyone with baskets to raffle off, music, kickball, food, and more! The fun starts at 4:30 and ends at 7:30 out behind the school, and with this beautiful weather and the fun that Marla Wanner and Shannon Ring have set up for you, you won't want to miss it! I look forward to seeing you all at the Basket Raffle Bash tomorrow evening!

I hope you enjoy this coming weekend with your favorite people making memories! When we search for peace, it's not going to be around us (we live in a whirlwind) - it's within us. Take a moment to slow yourself down and find the magic in each moment. Have a wonderful weekend, Norton Creek!
