New Survey Results Begins Monday - January 25th!

In December, everyone was asked to fill out a survey to indicate whether your child(ren) would be hybrid (in-person 2 days per week-remote 3 days per week) or remote only starting Monday, January 25th. If you did not respond to the survey you will be remote only. Anyone that is going to start hybrid for the first time on January 25th, below is a review of the information you will need to know:

HYBRID SCHEDULE

  • Last Names A-K in person Mondays & Tuesdays
  • Last Names L-Z in person Thursdays & Fridays
  • Everyone is remote Wednesdays
  • Kindergarten AM 8:30 - 11:00 am 4-days per week
  • Kindergarten PM 12:00 - 2:30 pm 4-days per week

ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL PROCEDURES & LOCATIONS

The procedures for drop-off and pick-up have changed this year to ensure the safety of all students and families. Each classroom is assigned to a specific door. Each child is assigned a specific number from their teacher; which they stand on when they line up. They enter and exit the same door each day. Here is a link to the PV arrival-dismissal Map so you can see where your child(ren) should line-up and where they will be exiting the building from. The bell rings at 8:27am and the students enter the building at that time. There are patrols and adults in each area so that late students will be let in after the teacher brings students inside. If you child(ren) arrive(s) after 8:35 am, they need to go directly to door #1 and ring the bell and we will make sure they get to their classroom(s). Please remember the playground is closed before school, during school, and at dismissal time for everyone's health & safety and all students and adults must have masks on as they enter and exit the Park View campus.

LUNCH TIME

All 1st - 5th grade students participating in the hybrid schedule will have a lunch time while at Park View. Fourth and fifth grade students eat at 10:55 am. First, second and third grade students eat at 11:45 am. All students are spaced apart by six feet or more and are unmasked during lunch time. Arbor has monthly lunch menus on the district website (go to sd44.org -parents tab -lunch service - monthly menus). All lunches from Arbor are free for all students until the end of this school year, due to the pandemic. Please know all students can have a free lunch regardless of your economic situation. I encourage EVERY family to take advantage of these free lunches as it helps the school district and our community when we use these services.

SELF-CERTIFICATION VERIFICATION

In December, we began requiring parents to go into Skyward each morning before 7:45am to self-certify your child(ren) each morning. I know this habit is one that is difficult to develop. We are going to continue asking you to do this, as we assess this procedure with help from our school nurses. We need to keep our environment as virus free as we possibly can so our staff can remain healthy and able to work here with students, so please continue to certify your child(ren) each morning by 7:45am. I will continue to update you on this.

4th & 5th Grade Parents - Student Council Begins!

Our Park View Student Council is starting! All 4th and 5th graders have the opportunity to run for an officer position! Please help your 4th or 5th grader decide what position to run for by reading the slides in the Student Council Officer Positions slideshow - below. Then, complete the Google Form (below) by Monday, January 11 @ 8pm to tell Mrs. Tomasello your choice. Parents need to sign the bottom of this form showing your child has permission to participate. Both documents are also posted in your child's Google Classroom. A virtual informational meeting describing the campaign process (digital poster and recorded speech) will take place on Wednesday, January 13th at 3:20. A link for the meeting will be sent to your child's D44 email. This is a great way for your child to show leadership skills and help our school, community, and the world. Student Council Classroom Representatives for grades 3-5 will be chosen at a later date.

Here is a link to the slideshow presentation to learn the roles available.

iPad/Chromebook Issues?

If your child is experiencing an issue with his/her district issued device, please fill out an online help ticket at: Technology Support Request Form. By accessing the student support helpdesk using this form, a technician will be able to expedite a solution by sending an email with instructions on a replacement, or troubleshooting the issues for you. You can find this form by going to: sd44.org - parents tab - D44 Remote Learning - Technology Support - and then click on the purple tech support icon at the bottom of the page.
