Writing Workshop News
Congratulations to our KF published authors! We finished our first Writing Workshop unit, What Authors Do, and our first book! What awesome work!
Pumpkins and Bats
We learned about and created our own pumpkins and bats this week. We learned that bat wings are similar to hands and traced our hands to create the bat's wings.
SNAP Space Shape Search
We learned about shapes in a fun way on Thursday with a SNAP space search. The SNAP (Science, Nature, Arts, and Pondering) space is located in the court yard and is visible from our classroom window. We found many 2D and 3D shapes and learned a lot about the shapes we see around us, See some pictures from our search above.
Halloween News
Please join us next Friday, October 30 at 2:15 PM in the Ben Franklin bus loop for our Halloween parade! Students will change into their costume in the classroom. Please send in a costume that is easy for your child to put on and walk in. Our party volunteers will be here to help. Only the volunteers on the list will be allowed into the school. We will hold our party at 1:30 prior to the parade. After the parade, the students will change back and be dismissed at the normal time. We hope to see you there!
If you are volunteering at the party, please follow the link below to view the HIB video. It is required of all volunteers.
Leaves needed!
We will be doing some special leaf projects soon and we need some colorful leaves! If you go on a leaf hunt please choose soft, colorful (not crunchy) leaves and send them in a ziploc bag. Please send in leaves by Monday, Nov 2. Thanks!
