Berlin Crisis
and the prisoners of communism
A Broken Nations and City
Germany was split up among the victors of WWII, but these world powers did not know how to share.
The United States were given South Germany, France the West, Briten the North West, and The Soviet Union, was given the east, where Berlin the capitol is.
Berlin was also split into 4 regions
The Nato nations were designated the North, West and South of Berlin, the USSR controlled east Berlin with an iron fist. The different ideals of Communist and Capitalist Democratic rule so geographically close proved difficult for Berlin citizens.
