Sherwood Elementary March 2022 Edition
No School 3/14-3/18 for Spring Break
A Message from Ms. Salas
We are excited that Spring Break is just around the corner! We hope that everyone has a safe break. Please encourage your child to continue the routine of reading for at least 20 minutes daily while on break. Ms. Meshkoff, our librarian, has some engaging reading activities for our Eagles to do while they are away. If your child needs some new books for their take home reading bag, please reach out to your child's teacher so that they can replenish it for them. Our readers should be celebrated! We are very proud of the growth that they have made!

Student Safety: Attention all Car Riders
If your child arrives after 7:20am and is late to school, we ask that you park in the front lot and bring your child into school. Dropping students off in the parking lot is dangerous for our students. Please do not drop off in the parking lot or in the street. If your child is arriving by car, you are to use the car rider line for the safety of all students. Thank you to those parents who have been following our safety rules! We appreciate you!

Character Trait for March: Honesty
Our character trait for March is honesty. Honesty is living truthfully in words, actions and thoughts. This is a harder concept than we realize. We will share examples of students being honest on the announcements daily. Some questions you can ask your child about honesty are:
• Which one is worse to you: lying, cheating, or stealing? Explain your answer.
• How important is it to you that your friends are honest? When your friends are dishonest with you, how does it make you feel? What should you do about it?
• When is it most difficult for you to tell the truth?
