Nichibei 日米 Health Care Fellowship
Now Accepting Applications!!
VIA is seeking medical programs alumni to serve as Nichibei [日米] Health Care Fellows for our 2017 Exploring Health Care (EHC) Program! We are looking for candidates able to contribute unique perspectives and insights which will complement that of our Bay Area-based Global Health Fellows. EHC 2017 dates are March 18 - 30.
The Nichibei [日米] Health Care Fellowship was established to provide VIA medical programs alumni with an opportunity to further develop their English and leadership skills through program organizing and facilitation while deepening their own understanding of U.S. and Japanese health care. As key staff members, Fellows support participants to critically examine aspects of the U.S. and Japanese health care systems. In addition, Fellows advance the promotion of VIA's medical programs in Japan while strengthening the community before, during and after the programming.
Ideal candidates will have some clinical experience and are able to use their own clinical knowledge to draw comparisons between health care in the U.S. and Japan. Demonstration of solid leadership and organizational skills, proactiveness, and an ability to work independently as well as on a team are important. A willingness to promote the use of English during the program is essential, as is the ability to discuss complex issues in English.
