Roadrunner Report

Updates for the End of Year
Thank you volunteers! Join us in the library on May 29th at 8 am to thank you for your support. Join us for our annual Volunteer Breakfast! We'll have a breakfast for you to enjoy. We truly cannot be successful without YOU.
Our Counselors will hold their informational meeting, Cafecito with the Counselors on May 30th at 7:30 am. Drop your kiddos off and come by the library. Enjoy some refreshments and learn about ways to minimize the "summer slide". Our academic specialists will provide ideas to keep students learning through the summer.
Beginning June 4th, we will have End of Year Award Ceremonies. Students will receive a certificate for their grade level participation. Parents will be able to enter the cafeteria 30 minutes prior to the start of their child's ceremony. Please click on the May Calendar of Events button below for dates and specific times for each grade level.
Planning for the 19-20 school year is well under way. We will continue our focus on developing a growth mindset in our students through goal setting, and recognizing that progress is also cause for success! The study of Social Emotional Learning for our staff, and developing self-regulation and coping skills in our students will also continue. Stay tuned for the June newsletter where you will get more information such as school supply lists, and Meet the Teacher date.
The technology deployment eliminated our use for the secondary computer lab. But, in it's place will be a new S.T.E.M. (Science Technology Engineering and Math) based lab. We've already ordered an additional 3-D printer (as part of our 2018 bond funding) and laptops. The success of our Book Fairs has given us the ability to purchase maker-space supplies. I know students will develop essential collaboration and creativity skills and provide another fun way to learn!
Be sure to register online for the 2019-2020 school year. You can click on the button above to get this done. Should you need assistance, please call the school or you can drop by. We have staff available to assist you. We have a limited number of classrooms, so it's important you do this as soon as you can.

BOOK FAIR SUCCESS
Happy Birthday, Mr. Monroe May!
Sign up for the fall now!
We'd like to have more father-figures volunteer for our WATCH D.O.G.S program. You can volunteer for a half day or a full day just once a year. We have an easy schedule for the day. This schedule includes two brief visits to volunteer in your child's classroom. Our kids love seeing their dad at school! You get presented on our morning announcements, and a picture with your child(ren) which is posted on our Watch D.O.G.S. wall. Even a half day can make a big impact on our students.
