Intro to book:
"Almost Home" by, Joan Bauer, is about a girl named Sugar. Sugar lives with her mom, Reba, who decides that they are going to move to Chicago to make a fresh start. While they are making their transition Reba has a mental breakdown that puts her in the hospital. While Sugars mom is in the hospital she has to be put into foster care with her dog Shush. During these hard times Sugar is going through, she starts to write poems that helps her get all of her stress out. Sugar soon realizes throughout her experience that a home is a place you carry in your heart.
This is a really great book to read because, it shows how strong someone can be even if their whole world is falling apart around them. Its a really inspirational book.
