📚News from the HMS Library
@hmsreads
This contest allows participants to submit as many poems as they would like to. Winning the contest means that you have a poem selected to be published in a book - an anthology of the best poems written this summer by students across the United States - wow!
When you go to submit your poem HERE, you may choose me (Jacqui Isser) as your teacher. OR you may email me your poem(s) and I can submit them for you!
We have had many Henry Hawks have poems chosen for publication in the past. If you'd like to see what the anthology book looks like, drop by the Library and ask to see one!

For Parents: Opt-In to the LISD Inter-Library Loan (ILL) System!
What: LISD librarians utilize the inter-library (ILL) system to procure additional copies of books for students or resources HMS may not have.
Why: Different libraries have different materials. The ILL system is a way for librarians to "share the wealth" with all LISD students!
How: Parents/guardians must now opt IN if they WANT their students to have access to higher grade level books.
Possible Action Item For PARENTS to Complete:
If you have a HMS student that you know is reading above grade level and wants to have access to high school materials, please fill out this form. This will slow the wait time down when your student wants to check out books from high school libraries in the future. Parents need only fill out the form once - that will grant your student access for the entire school year.
