PTO NEWS
DO YOU MAKE MONEY MOVES? PTO will need a new Treasurer for the 2021-2023 Term. The earlier we fill this position the better, so that there’s plenty of time for transition/training. Please email ptomartinson@gmail.com for more information or with a brief letter of introduction if you are interested.
TACO ‘BOUT AWESOME! PTO is sponsoring a visit from South Shore Taco Guy to serve our fantastic teachers and staff an almuerzo delicioso on February 3. If you’d like to donate to “buy a teacher lunch,” you can do so on PTBoard.com, through this link:

CALLING ALL GARDENING GURUS, OUTDOORSY TYPES, and ANYONE YOUNG AT HEART! Our Boosterthon this year will be focused on renewing our outdoor spaces (and maybe creating new ones!) and we will need your help. Marcy Concannon has graciously been our go-to parent for all things garden and playground, but is ready to put down her spade, as her children are moving on from MES. We would love to have someone, or better, a TEAM of parents to focus on these spaces going forward. Please plan on attending the March 9 general meeting!
Please mark your calendars (or put it in your phone!) for our next meeting on MARCH 9. We had great participation in last week’s meeting and would love to have this continue!
If you haven’t already, sign up for communications from us through PTBoard.com (school code MQ6XF5), and consider becoming a voting member while you’re there! Join our Facebook group, MES Parent Forum, or you can always share your ideas and concerns by emailing ptomartinson@gmail.com.Nurses Corner
As we get through this season and navigate the ongoing pandemic, it is important to follow our health guidelines. It is equally important to know that all MES students, staff and families are safe. Please feel free to contact Nurse Mudge with any concerns or questions regarding your child's health and wellbeing.
Please closely monitor your child's health daily before sending to school- and follow the CDC daily checklist as we strive to keep the building healthy and safe. It is critical to monitor daily/ keep your child home for any symptoms of illness- even if they are mild.
CDC Daily at Home Health Assessment- we ask that families use at home daily checklist as a helpful tool.
https://www.mpsd.org/cms/lib/MA02212716/Centricity/Domain/158/CDC%20Daily%20screening.pdf I would like to remind parents to refer to the MPSD web page
(under administration, and health tabs- scroll down to the bottom of the page for links that are highlight red) and stay up to date with Current Covid info, DPH guidelines for quarantine and isolation and statistical reports for cities and towns in MA. This will give you the most recent Covid case report of Marshfield and other surrounding districts, as well as other helpful resources and contact information.
If you have any concerns or questions about school protocols- please contact Nurse Mudge at 781-319-3985 or email cmudge@mpsd.org
If you are travelling please refer to the mass.gov travel website for guidance.

Either a 14 day quarantine OR a negative test-PCR test result must accompany your child before return to school. PCR tests now have rapid versions. Children under the age of 10 do not need to be tested, but a parent does- before returning to school. The child can have 1 adult submit their test.
As of 1/15/2021-The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is removing the requirement for flu vaccination for attendance in childcare/preschool, primary, secondary and postsecondary education. Preliminary data show that this has been a mild flu season to date, presumably as people have received their seasonal flu vaccine and have been adhering to mask-wearing and social distancing due to COVID-19. Given the intensive Commonwealth-wide efforts regarding COVID-19 vaccination, DPH wants to alleviate the burden to obtain flu vaccination and focus on continuing our COVID -19 vaccination efforts.
DPH continues to strongly recommend that everyone age six months and older receive their seasonal flu vaccine each year.
The updated schedule can be found here.
