Absence Procedure
- Parents can use PickUp Patrol (PUP), call or email the school before 8:50 a.m. to report their child’s absence with brief explanation. (Example: ill, medical, trip, appointment etc.) .
- If a PUP, call or email is not received, a school representative will attempt to contact the parent to confirm that the child is legitimately absent. A written note or email is necessary within three days of the absence. All absences are considered unexcused or unlawful until the attendance office receives a written note or email documenting a valid reason for the absence. (Example: ill, medical, trip, appointment etc.)
- If you do not have an account set up with PUP yet, please email or call the office to receive login information.

Welcome Sarah Johns!
Hi everyone, my name is Sarah Johns. I graduated from Ursinus College in 2021 with a B.A. in History and am currently a first-year graduate student pursuing a M.S. in School Counseling (K-12) at Villanova University. I’ll be at K.D. Markley every Wednesday this spring as part of my practicum experience, and I’m excited to learn how to best support students in their socio-emotional, academic, and career development. When I’m not at school, I love spending my time roller-skating, reading, and baking. I’m looking forward to being a part of such a great, welcoming school community!

Classroom Parties, Birthdays and Celebrations
We understand that birthdays and holidays are important to every child and that students like to celebrate with their classmates. However in accordance with Great Valley School District policy, we do not permit outside food in the classroom for parties or other activities related to parties and celebrations. This includes cards with candy inside.
Thank you for you help and support.

The Harlem Wizards are Back!
The world-famous Harlem Wizards, brought to you by GVSD Education Foundation, are returning to Great Valley High School on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 7:00 pm for an evening of interactive community based fun and fundraising. The Wizards will play a game against a team of GV teachers, principals and community leaders.
The energy at a Wizards game is electric. The laughter is infectious. The dunks are rim-rattling, high-flying and awe-inspiring. The hoop artistry, ball-handling, tricks and teamwork are mesmerizing.
What really takes it to another level is the community participation from the kids on court experiences, to the home team, who take on the Wizards as the “hometown heroes”. Besides cheering for their teachers, the kids are involved all night long. They will all have a chance to get on the court!
Tickets will go on sale on Friday, January 27th. Last year’s event was sold out, so plan to purchase your tickets early!
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor for the event, there a various levels of support available.
