CONGRATULATIONS TO THE OCTOBER TEACHER OF THE MONTH - MRS. LILA HACKETT
Teacher of the Month
Teachers, please announce this to your students, and post the link in your classroom.
HOW ARE YOU FOCUSING ON THE WILDLY IMPORTANT?
What do the students think? (Highlights from this week's Teacher of the Month responses)
- Mrs. Tripp is an amazing art teacher. She is very respectful and treats students the way she wants to be treated. She makes sure that we treat the art supplies right and always gives us the necessary time we need to complete a project. She always helps me when I need her and gives me advice for my artwork to become better. I think she gives grades properly and knows when someone is trying to become better, even if its the first time they have had art.
- (Mr. Smith) He's interesting and involves every student in class activities. He makes our class laugh and makes us fully understand the task at hand. He also provides after school tutoring for all and any student to ensure the success of them.
- I feel like Mrs. Mary Lanier should be the Teacher of the month. I say this because for one, Mrs. Lanier is a wonderful teacher. She makes her students work hard, she actually teaches and cares about what she teaches. She cares if her students get the information and understands it. But, Mrs. Lanier also knows how to joke around. She is always so sweet and knows how to joke around. She is so sweet. I don't know how others feel but I feel like if something is wrong and I need to talk to and adult other than my parents it would be her. Mrs. Lanier makes it very obvious that she cares, always reassuring us that someone does care and that she will always be there. So again, I feel like Mrs. Lanier should be teacher of the month.
- Mr. Cummings is an amazing teacher. He's doesn't talk at me but actually talks to me and treats me like I'm an adult. He's also pushes us past our limits and shows us that's okay to leave those limits behind. He also has a very different teaching style that keeps all of the students engaged in the lesson. He doesn't lecture us.He doesn't ignore us when we ask for help more than once. He supports us. That is why I think Mr. Cummings deserves to be Novembers teacher of the Month.

PLC Spotlight
As we begin to refine PLCs on our campus, I will share some PLC fundamentals. This week's information is taken from DuFour's work with the PLC model.
HARD WORK AND COMMITMENT
Initiating and sustaining the PLC model concept requires hard work. A school staff must focus on learning rather than teaching, work collaboratively on matters related to learning, and hold its members accountable for the kind of results that fuel continual improvement. When educators work hard to implement these principles, their collective ability to help all students learn will improve. The success of the PLC concept depends not on the merits of the concept itself, but on the most important element in the improvement of any school—the commitment and persistence of the educators within i
