Math
See below some of the standards that we will be working on this week. Look and discuss the anchor charts with your child. We will make and display these charts in the classroom too.
By the end of this week, students should be able to:
1. Create and explain equivalent fractions using visual models.
2. Create and explain equivalent fractions even though the number and size of the parts of the fraction may change.
Ways to practice at home:
In class we are using a program called Woot Math. It is very fun and interactive! Your child can log into Woot Math at home by using our class code which is: 93SN7T . They will choose our class and their name. The password is Math. I will be giving incentives for completing a book/level! I hope they enjoy this fun resource.

Reading
We are also using text structure to assist us in understanding what the author is trying to tell us when we read our Non- Fiction text.
We Could USE:
PENCILS: We could really use some new PRE-SHARPENED pencils. Also, Mrs. LaRusso's electric sharpener not working so great. If you happen to have one that you are not using, we would love to have it for the classroom!!
CRAYONS: Also, many students don't have crayons or something to color with. During our fractions unit, we will be using them from time to time, so if you are willing to send in some crayons, it would be greatly appreciated.
SCISSORS: Finally, scissors!! Many students do not have or have misplaced their scissors. Please check with your child and if they do not have scissors, please provide them with a pair.
Thank you so much!!!
