St. Columba Catholic School - News every Friday - 5/28/21
Today was an absolute joy! Between Field Day and Color Wars, we had a blast on campus today with our K-8 students! Those two events were well deserved and great reminders of how much fun kids can have! It was a wonderful way to come together as a community and get a little bit closer to normal.
Somehow, we have made it to the final week of school. To be honest, back in the summer as we were doing everything to get our school ready to open in the middle of a pandemic, I wasn't sure if this day would ever come, at least not looking like it does now. But through it all, we have persevered and reached the end of another unforgettable school year. I am looking forward to next week as we celebrate our final school Masses of the year, sign yearbooks, see our 8th graders move on to high school, and shift into a well-deserved summer break.
Next week also includes a very special day to our country and our community. As you all know, Monday is Memorial Day. I know that none of us take for granted the ultimate sacrifice that so many men and women have made on behalf of our great country. As we have the day off from school on Monday, I invite you to take the time to talk with your children about those great heroes that have protected and served our country in the greatest way. For many of us, that includes friends and family members. Let us never forget the sacrifice made by the few so that the many may enjoy the freedoms we have today.
Here is a look ahead at the upcoming events on campus:
- Monday, May 31: MEMORIAL DAY (NO SCHOOL)
- Tuesday, June 1:
- Wednesday, June 2: 8th Grade Graduation (4:30pm; RSVP'd guests only)
- Thursday, June 3: Rubio's Fundraiser (2-8pm at Rubio's off Aero Drive)
- Friday, June 4: 1/2 Day for Preschool; 1/2 Day for K-8; No After School Day Care; Kona Ice Truck Fundraiser across the street (12-1pm); Last Day of School for K-8; K-8 Report Cards sent home
Blessings,
Mr. Amann
