The Dust bowl also known as The Dirty thirties and In 1935, many families were forced to leave their farms and travel to other areas seeking work because of the Dust Bowl.The Dust Bowl exodus was the largest migration in American history.
The Dirties 30's
Many years of little rain and too much plowing removed the grass and left the soil. Strong wind made dirt clouds that destroyed homes.

Soil conservation is the management of soil to prevent its destruction. Also it is a component of environmental soil science. Contour plowing farmers plow their fields along the curves of a slope. Contour Plowing was a method of plowing furrows that follow the curves of the land rather than straight up and down slopes. Conservation Plowing farmers disturb the soil and its plant cover as little as possible. Crop rotation a farmer plants different crops different amount of nutrients from the soil. Crop Rotation is a systematic approach to deciding which crop to plant where in your vegetable garden from one year to the next.
