Weekly Wrap-up
December 21-23, 2015
3 Days to Go!
Wordly Wise Incentive: The children were treated (by Mr. Lord) to hot chocolate on Monday in recognition of their continued, strong effort toward using our ever-growing list of vocabulary words. Receiving and reading their citations are some of the highlights for me every week! Please commend them for their efforts and encourage them to keep looking for our words in all that they read and discuss.
STEM Meeting: Ms. Dicara and Ms. Kahl informed students about the upcoming STEM Fair. Forms came home on Tuesday. The STEM Fair is optional, however, it is strongly encouraged, especially for those who would like to be considered for GT Science in Middle School.
*Summary and Approval Form due to Ms. Dicara by Friday, January 15.
*T-shirt order form due January 15 as well.
Winter Party: Many thanks to Mrs. Drew and Mrs. Wolff for another great party! Thank you also to those parents who attended and contributed snacks for the party. The children made snowman book marks to use in their books from the book exchange. The children also participated in a lively game of "Hot Grinch".
AEbleskiver from Markus' Family: Thank you, also, to Mrs. Balesh and Markus for sharing this delicious treat from Denmark. We loved the warm, sugary snack!
Instrumental Music Carolers: Our class had a few representatives who were selected to participate in Mr. Mueller's caroling group. They toured the school on Wednesday afternoon spreading holiday cheer.
Winter Sing Along: Your children participated in their last Winter Sing Along at Riderwood on Wednesday afternoon. A perfect end to our last day before break.
My reserved class...
Thank you, Markus (& Nana!)
