Mission Maximize!
LVJHS Weekly Bulletin 9/25/2015
Dear LVJHS Family,
We must continually grow! Ralph Marston once said: "Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude." So what does this mean to us? Quite simply, we must focus on constant improvement. This week our campus leadership team worked with Lead4ward representatives to learn about how to build a framework for improving our instructional practices. We have a lot of things to celebrate on our campus. There are many areas where are students are achieving at high levels. Nonetheless, we must constantly challenge ourselves to reach new goals and face new challenges, such as the increasing passing rigor for STAAR Assessments. As a campus we are focusing on improving our instructional practices for the purpose of improving our students performance. Our campus and district will continue to implement and utilize Lead4ward tools and data processes in the days ahead to better meet the needs of our students.
Please check out Lead4ward.com to check out some powerful learning tools. Visit the link below to see some awesome instructional strategies. These are available in STAAR4ward in the Lead4ward website. You may check out STAAR4ward Resources in Lead4ward by using "learn2lead" in the password area.
Thank you all for making LVJHS a great place for students!

We are proud to announce our spotlight Junior High team member for the week is Mr. Burlanga! He joins our school family this year with experience, commitment, and an over pouring amount of creativity. Fundamental Five Focus...
Effective Small Group Purposeful Talk requires deliberate planning, execution, and reflection by the teacher, but it is a powerful instructional tool that can have huge impacts on student understanding and retention. Design your lessons to incorporate SGPT about the learning every 10-15 minutes. SGPT should last between 30 seconds and 3 minutes, include two to four students, be based on seed questions, and be focused by the teacher's presence in the Power Zone.
