CHES Parent Newsletter
2022-2023
November 14-20, 2022
From Mrs. Fierro's desk...
Mighty Hawk Parents,
Our 3rd-5th grade students have completed the first administration of the interim assessment. Take some time to contact your child's teacher to know how your child did. Together we can make a difference in the life of your child (ren).
Mighty Hawks have signed a pledge that they will be at school everyday. Posters are posted in our cafeteria. Help our Mighty Hawks by bringing them to school everyday on time at 7:30am. This allows them to arrive on time to eat their breakfast and get their day started.
We hope to see many of you on Wednesday for our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon. Tickets are on sale until noon on Monday, November 14th. Don't forget to bring your ID with you.
Lastly, help support our campus with fundraising through free dress or the Happy Birthday Marquee. We will be selling Holiday candy grams very soon. Be on the lookout for information.
Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!
With care,
Mrs. Fierro
From Mrs. Castillo, Assistant Principal

Important information...
Safety
Safety is our number one priority on campus. For this reason we ask that everyone present a government issued ID when coming on our campus. We will not allow you inside of our campus if you do not present an ID. No exceptions will be made.
The K-9 will be visiting our 4th and 5th grade classrooms monthly to ensure.
Door sweeps are completed on a weekly basis by our admin, custodians, YISD security and El Paso PD.
This month we will be practicing our Fire Drill and Secure (lockout) drill. A secure drill is conducted so our students and staff can practice what to do in the event that there is dangerous situation outside of and close to our campus.
Arrival/Dismissal
Parents we ask your help in making sure that your child(ren) arrive on time to school. We have seen an increase in tardies. School starts at 7:30am and we quickly begin with instruction. If your child is late, it causes them to start the day off later than the rest of the students. Below is the schedule of how our day starts.
7:30-7:45am- Breakfast/Announcements
7:45-8:15am- Small Group Intervention (teachers work with a small group of students and focus on areas of need based on tests).
Dismissal is at 2:45pm and we also ask that you arrive on time for your child. When children are not picked up on time, it causes them to worry. Thank you for your support in picking up your child on time!
Extended Day
Extended day will continue through the month of November. Please remember it ends at 4pm and students must be picked on time.
Volunteers
We are currently looking for volunteers to assist on our campus. If you are interested, come by and speak to Isela Lucero. Click on the link below for volunteer application.
