Mooresville High School readers are encouraged to participate in the Mooresville Public Library's summer reading program, beginning on June 5th and ending on July 31st. You can log pages and can read or listen to anything, including books, graphic novels, podcasts, or audiobooks. Learn more about the program here.

Each Wednesday at 1:00 pm, you are also invited to attend a "Tails & Tales" program. This includes a balloon twisting workshop, life-size games, a guide dog program, and much more. Please visit the library's calendar of events to see a full list of programs. Some programs do require registration due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Want a Chance to Win $200?

The Teen Video Challenge is an annual video contest open to students, ages 13-18. Teens are invited to create a public service announcement-type video that shows their interpretation of the 2021 CSLP slogan “Tails and Tales.” Five winners will be chosen and will receive: a $200 cash prize as well as $50 worth of summer reading materials for their library!

Videos will be accepted from June 1 through August 6, 2021.

Check out the contest rules below:

  • Videos are to be 60 seconds or less
  • Promote libraries and reading
  • Designed for use at any library
  • Appropriate for viewing by audiences of all ages—this means it must be rated G!
  • Adhere to copyright laws
  • Interpret the theme of “Tails and Tales.”
