Skills USA

Since 1965, Skills USA has been an integral part of career and technical education with an unwavering commitment to improving the quality of our nation's skilled workforce. Skills USA is the largest organization whose purpose is to serve students preparing for technical, skilled and service careers. It is a student-led and advisory-facilitated organization.

As a part of Skills USA, students have the ability to compete in their individual skill area against others training in the same skill. Within our school, we hold local competitions to see who is best able to demonstrate their skill level and are prepared to compete against others from our Region. This past week, we held our Regional competitions. At this competition, CCATC students competed against students from Boone County, Grant County, Holmes, and Newport. The winners from the Regional competition will move on to compete at the State level on April 19 - 21. If we have winners at the state level, they will compete against students from across the Nation this summer in Atlanta, Georgia.

Our kids at Campbell County ATC proved that they are highly skilled and are ready to compete at the state level! We had multiple winners in the Regional competition that will be advancing to the state competition in April. Please join me in congratulating the following students:

Team Works Competition

Team works is a special competition because it closely replicates a real world work place scenario. It shows how well students work with others and how they can execute their skill in collaboration with other industry specialists. For the Team Works competition, four students from four different program specialties (Carpentry, Electricity, Masonry & Welding) work together to complete a project that requires each of their expertise.

Skills USA State Competition

We are so very proud of our students! We can't wait to see how they perform at State!
