Looking for things to do during winter break?
- Practice math fluency facts on xtramath.org
- Go to webdesk.pisd.edu to access many apps available to all PISD students. Don't forget to log some Dreambox lessons!
- Write a story and have your child practice their cursive. See the letters we use here. https://www.perfectionlearning.com/media/pdfs/bh/bh_letter_SlantEng.pdf
- Work on your child's 40 book challenge. Read with your child, you can take turns, or listen to them read aloud to build fluency.
- Get outside, take a nature walk! The best way for your child to learn about science is to experience nature. Let them develop their curiosity.
- Let them PLAY! Your third grader has worked SO hard this first semester; let them enjoy being a kid!
We hope you have a restful, fun-filled winter break. We will see you when we return!
Caine's Arcade!
We have had SO much fun building our cardboard arcade games this week. Thank you to all who sent in different items, so the students could be successful. Today, other grade levels will be coming to play our arcade games. Enjoy a few pictures of the process.
Cafeteria Visitors-Temporary Change
Our cafeteria will not be completed when we return. We will be having the same lunch schedule for a few more weeks.
While our school cafeteria is under construction, our space is very limited during lunch time. We need to make sure all of our students have a place to sit and enjoy their lunch. Our limited space means we cannot accommodate parents inside the cafeteria during cold or rainy days. When the weather is nice, you are more than welcome to eat with your child outside once this semester on the patio through the back door of the cafeteria.
We are looking forward to our cafeteria (and the cafeteria rules) returning to normal during the second semester. Once we get word that the construction is completed, we will let you know, and you are more than welcome to eat with us inside the cafeteria or on the patio.
