Principal Newsletter
From the Desk of Mrs. Riley
October 22, 2020
Dear Parents,
We, at Our Lady of Good Counsel School, are so fortunate to have such amazing and dedicated teachers and staff members! They continue to work hard to ensure that our students get the best education possible rich in academics and faith experiences. They are doing all of this while in the midst of challenging times that have created many changes in school. They continue to adapt and show tremendous flexibility. Please continue to pray and encourage them as we stay healthy and progress forward through this school year.
Here are a few school updates and reminders:
- Tomorrow, October 23rd, is a half day for students. Pre-K will be dismissed at 11:30 AM and students in Grades K - 8 at 11:45 AM. There will be no PM CARES. There will also be NO after school transportation from the following bus companies: Council Rock, Upper Moreland, Abington, and Neshaminy.
- Winter Uniforms begin this Monday, October 26th. Please refer to the school website for details on uniform regulations.
- We are now beginning collection of the Art Fee in the amount of $10 per student. This fee covers the cost of supplies used in Art class. Please place check made payable to OLGC School in an envelope and send it into school no later than Monday, November 2nd. Families may submit one check for all children.
- Due to COVID-19 protocols and procedures, the Parade of Saints will take on a different look this year. In lieu of dressing up as saints, students in Grades K through 4 will be creating puppet saints to parade during the school day. Teachers in those grades will be sending home more information and a template for this project.
- Below you will find a letter from the AoP Secretary of Elementary Education, Dr. Andrew McLaughlin in which he thanks parents for all of their efforts in helping to make this school year a safe one for our students.
Thank you for your constant support and prayers for our school. I encourage you to continue to support our work as we advance our mission to provide a transformative education steeped in academics and faith to our deserving students. There is no greater investment for forming our future saints than a Catholic education!
Please carefully review this week's newsletter for many reminders and updates. We thank you for entrusting your children to us and for the sacrifices you make each day to send your child(ren) to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School.
God's Peace,
Mrs. Barbara Riley
Principal
