TxConnect is Now Ascender
ASCENDER has taken over with a few changes.
- The app for your cell phone no longer works. The company is working on creating another one.
- Until the app is created, you must go through the district website. www.lagovistaisd.net
- On the Main Page, go to Parent Connection, halfway down the page on the left.
- On new page, scroll down about halfway, look for Keeping Track of Grades. You will then click on the ASCENDER link.
- Log in like you normally did with TxConnect.
- If you have any questions or trouble, please call 512-267-8300 #2503.

Nurse's Corner
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds;
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a disposable tissue or your arm/sleeve; and
- Avoiding touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
As a reminder, it is Lago Vista ISD policy that students with a fever of 100 degrees or greater must stay out of school and not participate in after-school activities until they are fever-free for 24 hours without the aid of fever-reducing medication. Furthermore, students with diarrhea or vomiting must also stay home until they are symptom free without symptom-suppressing medications for at least 24 hours.
Taking these steps will help minimize the exposure of illnesses like the flu and the possibility of spreading them to students and staff who are not sick. Thank you for helping us create the safest and healthiest learning environments for the students and staff of Lago Vista ISD!

Counselor's Corner
Hello LVES Families! In our guidance class lessons this month, the character trait topic is Fairness. We are discussing that fairness involves treating people the way they want to be treated, taking turns, telling the truth, and playing by the rules. A fair person thinks about how their actions will affect others. They listen to people with an open mind, they do not blame others for their own mistakes, they do not take advantage of other people, or play favorites. As a parent, it is important to remember that we are role models when it comes to teaching our children about fairness.
“The best index to a person’s character is how he treats people who can’t do him any good--and how he treats people who can’t fight back.” ~Abigail Van Buren
~Abigail Van Buren
