Mustang News
January 11, 2021
Dear Alamo Families,
This month, we honor Martin Luther King Jr's life by bringing his words and dream to life. We aim to teach our students to remember that Dr. King's main message was to do things in a right and peaceful manner and that we judge people by the content of their character.
Our Mustang Broadcast this week focuses on student character strengths we recognize in our Alamo Pride program: citizenship, caring, fairness, respect, responsibility, and trustworthiness. You will hear Aria say, "We want you to learn that character is more than a person's behavior. It's a combination of thoughts, feelings, and actions recognized and encouraged every day."
Warmly,
Mrs. Salazar

I wanted to begin by thanking the 171 families who participated in the Alamo Spring School Survey. You can look at survey results HERE. It offers some insight into the Alamo School community as to the thought processes that went behind your declarations and where we stand as a school community in terms of the decisions made. Thank you again to Erin Brooks, Leah Accolah and Hilarie Bako for working on this over the holiday break. If you have any questions about the survey or the results, email erinraziano@yahoo.com
A huge SHOUT OUT goes to Karrie Henneman, Kristi Fox, Renee Feldman and the Harvest of the Month team who continue to educate our kids by providing healthy choices and education about the food they eat. The focus for January is sweet potatoes with oranges being discussed in February and salad greens in March. The program will end in March of this year to allow the teachers time for testing. The website information is available at alamoharvest.com Log in using the username Alamo and the password alamoharvestofthemonth. Please email kmheneman@gmail.com if you have any questions about this great program.

Tri-Valley Dyslexia Support Group
They are a group of parents and educators coming together once a month to offer support, share ideas and resources, and empower each other as we experience the successes and challenges of raising a child with dyslexia.
This group is intended to be a safe place to regularly share what we are going through with others who understand or may have overcome a similar challenge and can offer insight or experience.
This group is parent-moderated, free, and hosted in partnership with the San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs’ Special Needs Committee. We ask that you RSVP for meetings so we can ensure enough chairs and materials.
When:
2nd Thursday evening of the month, 7:00-8:30 pm, September – May, unless otherwise noted.
