Counselor's Corner:
Harvey Update:
The Meadow Market is in the Multi-Purpose room with donations from the Nottingham Forest “shops” and many other generous parents. It is filled with a variety of donations from clothing, toys, sports equipment, books, shoes and kitchen items. We encourage everyone impacted by the flood to come by and “shop”. If you don’t see what you need, just let us know. We have new donations coming in daily. In addition, Chapelwood has many resources to offer including hot meals delivered right to your door and laundry services. The best part is that the Chapelwood volunteers will come to you! Please contact Ms. Oxener, our Community in Schools Specialist, to access these services
Our counselor, Ms. Luberger and Ms. Oxener have plans in place to support children and families. They will begin parent and children’s support groups in the near future. To discuss your particular needs, please email or call

October 28, 5:00 – 7:30 Memorial Strong: Trunk or Treating
Many families from Meadow Wood, Thornwood, Nottingham, Rummel Creek and Frostwood are unable to Trick or Treat in their neighborhoods due to flooding. This event is designed to provide families a safe and fun atmosphere for Trick or Treating at Don Coleman Coliseum parking lot. The Spring Branch Education Foundation and Exxon will be partnering with us to make this a great Halloween for our students. Be on the lookout for more details in the near future!
Gifted and Talented Update:
Parents who would like to refer their child for screening must provide permission for assessment and complete the on-line Parent Referral Form. As part of the new referral process, you will need to know the email address of your child’s current Language Arts and Math teachers.
Referral Forms are available on-line at https://sbgifted.schoolmint.net. These forms must be completed by Monday, October 23, 2017.
Please note that no late referrals can be accepted due to timeline constraints.
