Welcome Back Students!
At HMMS we focus each day on 3 main Expectations: Respect, Academic Excellence, and Leadership.
Respect-
Our students come to school each day with a great attitude, ready to learn! Teachers greet students as the enter the classroom and students wait to be seated by their teacher.
Academic Excellence-
Teachers have been very excited to share Larry Bell's 12 Powerful Words with the students. We have been focusing on the first four words: Trace- to outline, Analyze- to break it down, Infer- read between the lines, and Evaluate- to judge. The students have been practicing a song and dance so please have them share with you!
Every students received an agenda at the beginning of the school year. Please look over it with you child to see what fun lessons they're doing and possible homework due.
Leadership-
Derreck Ramsey, Secretary of Labor visited HMMS August 17 to discuss the importance of leadership in school.
The STLP class has been hard at work making videos to train teachers and staff. Their website will be up and running soon so stay tuned!
