"My name is Danielle. I'm eighteen. I've been stealing things for as long as I can remember."
Dani has been trained as a thief by the best there is, her mother. Together, they move from town to town, pin pointing wealthy homes and making a living by stealing silver. She never stays in one place long enough to make real relationships, real friends or just a normal life. In the beach town of Heaven, everything changes. For the first time, Dani starts to feel at home. She's making friends and has even met a guy. But these people can never know the "real" Dani because of who she is. It turns out that her new friend lives in the house they've chosen for their next late night trip and the cute guy is a cop. Dani struggled to pick a side, with the life she's always known or the one she's always wanted.
Off to the side
Jonna, Dani's mom. The master mind of the planning. They have a close relationship. Not broken. Her late night trips away drive Dani crazy. Dani blames her for stealing her love life. Taring her away to fast, which causes Dani unable to form a friendship with anyone. When she tells Dani they are moving again it the same reaction she got since she was born. Hoping this will be different, she made the right choice. Her trips help with their planing by gathering information from the citizens of Heaven. Jonna had a major impact in Dani's life and this decision.
