SOCCER AND SI SE PUEDE MAKE A GREAT TEAM

Coach Sasha Hunter and CHS Boys Soccer volunteered to train local elementary students in the Si Se Puede Soccer Program. At the conclusion of the fun-filled clinic, Coach Hunter received an appreciation award for his support of the program. Great job, Wolves!

HOMECOMING

It’s Homecoming Week at CHS and we’re California Dreamin’! From Thursday’s Royalty Assembly to Friday’s Parade and Football Game, and then Saturday’s Homecoming Dance (see info below), students and alumni will be demonstrating their Wolf Pride in AZ and CA!

SWIM AND DIVE

Cheer on your Swim and Dive team as they prepare to host the largest, high-caliber, early season invitational in the state! The Wolves Classic Invitational starts this Wednesday (9/14) with Dive events at 9:30am.


On Saturday (9/17), start your homecoming day off by joining 1,000+ athletes and 3,000+ spectators with swimming events starting at 9am. $5 admission will be charged at the gate.


Looking for volunteer hours? Want free admission? How about a front row seat for all the action and free snacks while you’re at the meet? We’re looking for lane timers to help us ensure we stay to the timeline at Saturday’s swimming events. Don’t worry - we’ll train you for it!

ARSENIC AND OLD LACE

Coming this week...Chandler High Theatre Presents Arsenic and Old Lace on September 13, 14, and 15 at 7:00pm in the CCA Bogle Theater. Writer Mortimer Brewster (Ashby Gentry) falls for girl-next-door Elaine Harper (Hanna Soto). While in his family home, they finally get engaged and deliver the news to his family. However, Brewster quickly finds a corpse hidden in a window seat. With his eccentric aunts (Gabby Terrell and Haley Evans), disturbed uncle (Mark Munoz), and homicidal brother (Isaac Dowdle), he starts to realize that his family is even crazier than he thought. Tickets are $7 General Admission and $5 Senior Citizens/ITS Members - available in the CHS Bookstore.

DANCE

CHS Dance classes, under the direction of Mrs. Kathie Buren, participated in a lighting lecture demonstration at the Chandler Center for the Arts last week. Students learned how to apply their lighting vocabulary into writing actual lighting cues. This is college level work!

POM AND CHEER CLINIC

The Chandler High Spiritline is putting on a Pom and Cheer Clinic on Saturday, September 24, for K-8th graders. CAREER SPOTLIGHT

Have you ever thought about a career in Education or Training? Here are some great jobs to look into:


Elementary or Secondary School Teachers generally start out in the $32,000-36,000 range. These jobs require a Bachelor’s degree which is offered by all major universities in the state. Chandler Gilbert Community College offers a teacher education program through NAU where you can complete your Bachelor’s while attending CGCC.


Preschool teachers start in the $17,000-$19,000 range with an Associate’s degree. Chandler Gilbert and Mesa Community Colleges both offer this program.


Teacher Assistants start out in the $18,000-$20,000 range with some post-secondary training. Chandler Gilbert, Mesa, Rio Salado, Scottsdale, and South Mountain Community Colleges all offer this training.
