Dear Runkle Friends,
Runkle staff have been sharing literature, writing and creating projects to honor Black History Month with our students. This is not a one-month activity for Runkle, but a permanent commitment to becoming anti-racists in all aspects of our lives and the education that we provide our students. Brookline's Office of Educational Equity provides staff with resources and supports throughout the school year.
Runkle's 6-8 Chorus performed on Thursday evening at BHS. There was a medical emergency in the audience that paused the performance. The students, staff and audience members were remarkable in their kindness, patience and empathy for the Lincoln grandparent who required medical attention. The family insisted that the performance continue. The Runkle Chorus was incredible (video below). Thank you Sarah Gardner for your hard work with our talented students!

Reminders:
2. 8th Graders will be visiting BHS for an Electives Performance on Wednesday, Feb. 15th at 8:10am. The bus will return them to Runkle at 10:00am. If you have not filled out this Google Permission Form, please do so now.
3. Middle School Dance: Wednesday, Feb. 15th 6:00-8:00pm in the Multipurpose Room. Sponsored by the Runkle PTO.
4. Kindergarten Snuggle and Read: Friday, Feb. 17th at 8:00am.
5. Grade 5 Food and Climate Presentation: Friday, Feb. 17th at 9:00am.
6. February Vacation Break: Monday, Feb. 20th - Friday, Feb. 24th. Return to School on Monday, Feb. 27th.
