Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL)
For Middle School Students
The TEL resource is a free, virtual library provided by the Tennessee State and Library Archives that can be accessed from anywhere at any time. This is an excellent resource for learning more about specific topics. The collection consists of over 400,000 electronic resources including scholarly journals, podcasts, magazines, videos, e-books, federal census records, primary sources, homework help, test preparation materials, and much more! Go to https://tntel.info/ to access TEL.
Watch the video tutorial (created by Xan Lasko from Rockvale High) below to learn how to navigate TEL and access free e-books and audiobooks. She clicks on high school, but the same resources are also offered when you click on middle school.
Note: If TEL asks you to provide a password, it is: elvis.

Reading Comprehension Questions
The button below is a Scholastic blog that helps parents ask their students questions before, during, and after reading a story/chapter. These questions will help build reading comprehension and can help prevent that "summer slide". There are grade specific questions for grades K-5. Click the button below to access the blog. Scroll down in the blog to find your student's grade level.
