Big picture

Cori Ponte has been the school nurse at Newport Heights for 8 years,

and she was a Dolphin parent before that!

The district has decided to transfer her to Odle Middle School

due to the overall good of the district.

Her extensive knowledge of the needs of our more medically fragile

students in the Pacific Program will be irreplaceable and her time and

attention to all students will be missed very deeply.

Big picture

Diane Nakamichi has been a teacher at Newport Heights for 10 years!

She has decided to retire to spend more time with her beloved garden...and family.

Please join me in congratulating her on a career packed full of educating young minds. She has made a bigger impact on our community than we know.

She will be truly missed, but we wish you the best in retirement.

Big picture

Layne Harris has been part of the Newport Heights community for the last 7 years

as a 3rd grade teacher, 4th grade teacher, and now as the Instructional Technology and Curriculum Leader.

The district has decided to transfer her to another school to teach 3rd grade and

she will be greatly missed in our community!

Lindsay Lile has been a teacher at Newport Heights for 7 years! Wow!

She has accepted a position at Cherry Crest Elementary in the Advanced Learning Program.

Cherry Crest's gain is definitely our loss! We wish you all the best in this new adventure!

Maggie Mosholder has been the school counselor at Newport Heights for 8 years! She has been an incredibly valuable asset to our school and even more so as we try to navigate student well-being through this pandemic.

The district has decided to transfer her to another school

due to the overall good of the district.

Thank you, Maggie, for caring for our children for so many years. Thank you for helping them through tears, and fears and all the other big emotions of childhood. We will miss your calming presence in our community!

Big picture

Meggan Jung has been a psychologist with the district for 23 years the last 7 of which

were at Newport Heights! That's a long time!

Parents and colleagues describe Meggan as compassionate, kind, dedicated,

hard-working and a true advocate for children.

The district has decided to transfer her to another school

due to the overall good of the district.

We wish you the best, but will truly miss all you've done for our community and children!
