AMI Days
Renner Expectations 2022-2023
What We Expect From Students
- All of our students will have distance learning on an AMI day from 9 a.m. to 3:40 p.m., with a break from noon to 1 p.m.
- Students should check their online learning platform (Schoology or Seesaw) at 9 a.m. to see what teachers have planned for the day.
Details
- Teachers will work from home on AMI days, or they may choose to come into the classroom if they prefer to use equipment at school.
- Teachers will have planning time from 8 to 9 a.m.
- Teachers will have lessons posted for students by 9 a.m.
- Teachers will be available to students through TEAMS and/or email between 9 a.m. and 3:40 p.m., with the exception of an hour for lunch/midday planning from noon to 1 p.m.
- This schedule reflects the length of the contract day in our teacher agreement.
- The main thing to keep in mind is that these days are intended to count as a full school day for students and a full contracted work day for teachers. While the intention is that these will be “lighter” days, we still need to provide enough work for it to be considered a school day.
Teacher Expectations
- Teachers will host 2 TEAM meetings for their students.
- Meeting 1 will be scheduled between 9:00 and 10:00.
- The following is a list of options for the morning meeting: Traditional morning Meeting, SEL lesson, review of the AMI schedule and expectations, read aloud, etc.
- Meeting 2 will be scheduled by the classroom teacher at midday or at the end of the day.
- Below are suggested options for the afternoon meeting:
- Student check in, read aloud, review of the day, preview of tomorrow’s learning/plan
- The focus of the day is Math, Reading, and Writing.
- Students will use MyPath math and MyPath reading as an additional resource on AMI days. A goal of approximately 30 minutes on each platform can be communicated in the scheduled day for families as a resource along with lessons completed in Seesaw and Schoology.
- Teachers will be available throughout the day on TEAMS/and or email for questions. (Except from 12:00-1:00).
- Collaborate/Communicate schedule with specials and others.
- Specials will have individual lesson push out and availability.

Special Education Teachers
Follow Form G in IEP
- Communicate with appropriate classroom teachers to create an AMI schedule.
- Communicate plans with families
Teacher Assistants/ELD Aide: Updated
- Meet with a small group of students to support their learning.
- Check in with 3-5 families/students during the day. This could be done through TEAMS, phone, or email.
The teacher assistant will need to document the following: time of contact, student name, type of contact, and if contact was made. If no contact was made, more than one attempt should be documented. The documentation (copies of emails, list of TEAMS meetings, etc.) must be shared with the building principal and then the TA is eligible for a full day of pay.
Other options:
- not work at all and instead use their paid leave such as PB or sick leave
- not work at all and be unpaid.
TAs need to communicate with Sasha the time of contact, student name, type of contact, and if contact was made. This needs to be communicated with Sasha no later than the following day.
Other Staff (not TAs)
Media Assistants, Recovery Room Interventionist, MS Accompanist, HS Accompanist, Band Asst., Braillist, Campus Supervisor, ISS, Security Monitor, Virtual Learning Lab Supervisor, Building Assistant, Certified Recess, Lunchroom/Playground Supervisor, Nutrition Services Staff:
In the past, AMI Days were typically unpaid days for your work group. There are now three options:
- Do not worry about work – enjoy the day off. This option will be unpaid.
- Do not worry about work – enjoy the day off, and use any paid leave you may have available (sick leave or personal business leave) in order to receive pay. This option is only available to staff that work more than 30 hours a week and receive paid leave as part of their benefit package.
- Complete three (3) additional Vector trainings within one week of each AMI day and receive full pay by the district.
A wide array of additional Vector trainings have been made available to staff to take – please follow the instructions that were emailed to you by Dr. Kaiser on 11/14/22. A list of the trainings was also included in that email. The trainings on this list are the only trainings approved for pay on an AMI day. If you complete three of them, you will receive credit for a full day of pay.
Q: How do I access the Vector training site?
A: https://parkhill-mo.safeschools.com/login
Q: Can I just go ahead and do my trainings now, in advance?
A: No. We will pull a report for the dates including the AMI day + 6 days after. We will credit one day’s pay for those staff that complete three of the pre-approved Vector trainings within a 7-day window.
Q: Do I have to be on-site and clocked in when I complete the trainings?
A: No. We will give credit for the missed AMI work day regardless, as long as you complete three of the pre-approved Vector trainings within the 7-day window.
Q: If I complete only one of the trainings, will I get paid 1/3 of my missed day of work?
A: No. The approved arrangement is we will credit a full day’s pay for three trainings. It’s a generous arrangement and there are no “partial credits.”
Q: Do I have to do the online training on the actual missed AMI Day?
A: No. You have a full week (7 days) to complete all three pre-approved Vector trainings.
Q: What happens if we have more than one AMI Day in a row due to bad weather?
A: You will receive a full day’s pay if you complete three Vector trainings per AMI day. If we have two AMI days in a row, then you will need to complete six trainings to get two days of pay.
Q: How can I be sure that I received credit for completing three of the Vector trainings and will get paid?
A: Review your timecard in UKG and you will see a credit of time along with a pay code that says “AMI day” that will appear after 7 days.
