Week in Review

Thank you to everyone for their flexibility last week. We had to juggle a few things around staffing wise with so many people out (myself included). I appreciate your willingness to step up and do what is best for the "team".

Please continue to keep grades updated and the appropriate amount of grades (a parent would expect) for this point of the marking period. I continue to stress this, due to the fact that I have had contact with parents regarding this issue.

Testing is dwindling down to just one more AP test and 7th grade M-STEP.

So far we have completed:

Corinne received the following great news about Heather Kook on Friday afternoon!

Dear Corinne H. Harnden,

We are pleased to announce that artwork has been selected as one of our 51 finalists for The Meemic Foundation art contest – Meemic Masterpieces! As the Foundation Club Member that sponsored the entry, a $300 art supplies grant will be awarded to Brown City Jr. Sr. High School on behalf of your sponsorship of Heather Lynne Kook’s work and Heather Lynne Kook will be receiving a Kindle Fire HD tablet!

This is great for Heather, and thank you to Corinne for sponsoring her for this competition!

Our conceptual science students have been working on their crime scene lessons the past week. Below is a picture of some students wanting to be a part of the "crime scene" :)

7th Grade M-STEP

The 7th graders will begin their testing this week on Wednesday. They will be taking the Science Test first. If you have 7th graders please ask them to bring their own headphones (if they have them) for any of their M-STEP days. They will not need them for all tests, but this way they have them when needed. Wednesday's test will take approximately 2 hours. Those proctoring the test try and start as soon as possible. I am planning to have my proctors covered for their first 3 hours, but if we are done by the start of third hour that won't be necessary.

A complete list of room assignments (for teachers and students) will be emailed out tomorrow.

Homework Help Lab

Homework Help Lab will be on Tuesday's and Thursday's. Please announce this schedule to your students.

Tuesday/Thursday Mornings in Lori's new room. 7:15-8:00 am

This will cause some students to be past the double doors, but Jesse is there monitoring this and will let them up if needed. Also, any other teachers that have students coming for help in the morning, just have them let Jesse know when they ask to go up early. This will not be an issue, and I encourage you to work with your struggling students.

Tuesday/Thursday Afternoons in Library. 3:15-4:00 pm

Jarrod will be running the morning sessions and Lou will be running the afternoon sessions. Any other teachers are also welcome to help with this. Thanks.

Magic Club--Tuesdays and Thursdays

Super Smash Bros Club--Fridays

Parting Toughts

It is the Seniors' last full week with us. Please help to keep an eye on them behavior wise to limit any "silly" activity that may result in a huge disturbance to our day. Also, please pay attention to grades for them. Let Sheryl and I know of any concerns, we both called parents last week for ones we were worried about. We would rather make that call now, than have to make the call (next week) saying the student cannot walk in graduation. Thank you for your help with this.
