CURRICULUM CORNER
WEEK OF 08/29 - 09/02
Letter from MEB
We've just about made it to September, Royal Donut is open again, some people are excited that Starbucks has the pumpkin spice option already, we have just about tackled the first quarter, and we are heading into Labor Day Weekend and can take that big-first- beginning-the-of-the-year-long-weekend-cleansing-breath.
With all of the good news mentioned above, I am excited to share some good news from the curriculum department. We have two new individuals that have joined our crew!
First, I would like to introduce Mr. Brian Klett, Fine Arts Facilitator. He will be supporting Art, Music, and Foreign Language throughout the district.
Second, please welcome Mr. Jacob Roskovensky to the District. He is the new Media Specialist for the District. You will be able to find him at the DHS Library much of the time.
Welcome, gentlemen! We know you will do great things!
Finally, the district store should be open for purchase shortly and the schedule for Friday will be out tomorrow!
Take care,
MEB
ROE SchoolWorks Instructional Coaching Networking Group FREE Book Study Opportunity for Educator Self-Care
Good morning, educators!
I hope you're finding some rest and relaxation in the last few hours of summer before students are back in your building. This time of year can be both exciting and stressful, but through it all, just know that your students can't wait to meet and learn alongside you.
With the kickoff of the school year in mind, ROE SchoolWorks wanted to share a FREE professional learning opportunity. We are hosting a 37-week, virtual book "study" on 180 Days of Self-Care for Busy Educators, a guidebook that aims to "help you lead a happier, healthier, more fulfilled life inside and outside of the classroom." Each week throughout the 2022-2023 school year, you would read a short chapter from the book (that will be shipped to you upon registering) and engage asynchronously with other participants on the online professional learning platform, “Canvas”. You would meet quarterly via Zoom with the course facilitator and nationally-certified school psychologist, Nick Clegg, to review material, share insights, and develop community. When the book study concludes, you would choose to earn either 37 continuing professional development hours (that count toward renewal of your license, if applicable) or two (2) graduate credits from Lindenwood University for an additional fee.
For more information and to register, click here. A flyer has also been attached. If you have additional questions, please reach out to Nick at nclegg@roeschoolworks.org or ROE SchoolWorks Director, Mrs. Jeri Callaway, at jcallaway@roeschoolworks.org.
Thank you for all you do for students! Have a great year!
