Did you miss Music Lesson #1?
Your Name Is a Song?!
Remote Music Lesson #1 (August 17 - 21, 2020)
Have you ever had trouble saying someone's name correctly or has someone had trouble saying your name? It can be quite embarrassing!Today's Goal:
I can create my own music using my unique name for inspiration
Music Standard ML 3
Assignment:
1- Watch the video below to hear a great solution to the problem!
2- Watch the author's video and practicing "singing" the names in the story
3- Create a way to sing your own name. Make up a melody and rhythm that you like. It can
be high or low, fast or slow, have a hip-hop or jazzy beat. The sky is the limit! There are no
wrong answers. The only way you can mess up is not to try!
4- Practice singing your name at least 10 times so that you can sing it exactly the same way
every time.
5- Sing your name to someone else. It can be someone in your family or a classmate or
teacher. Make sure to safely social distance (stay 6 feet apart and wear a mask) unless your audience member is someone you live with. You can also safely sing over the phone or computer.
6- Teach your audience member how to sing your name. Repeat it several times until they
get the hang of it.
7- Encourage your audience member to create a way to sing their name for you.
8- Have fun singing your own name and your audience member's name together.
FYI: Next week you'll get to share your Name Song with me and the rest of the WE family!
