Dear Sequoia Families,
As we continue through the end of the year, there are many things being organized and planned by our staff. The next most important date coming up is instrument and music book drop off on May 8th. If your child plays a band or orchestra instrument, please come on Friday through the front parking lot (closest to the office) at the specified time below by last name to hand over your child's instrument and music book.
- LAST NAME begins with A - I, please come between 9-10am
- LAST NAME begins with J - R, please come between 10-11am
- LAST NAME begins with S - Z, please come between 11-12pm.
Fine Arts Day is also on May 8th! There are still plenty of art kits available if your family could use one to take part on Friday. The last pick up for art kits is tomorrow from 10-12 in the front parking lot. No need to get out of your car, we will bring it to you when you pull up. We will send an email and app message when the lessons go live on Friday morning. I'm excited to see all the art our Sequoia Giants create!
The other event being planned for is the pick up of student items at the end of May. Currently, teachers are putting all student items in bags to be picked up on both May 28th and May 29th. We are still working on the schedule for this in order to make it as organized as possible. On both those days we will have families come by grade level to pick up classroom items, return library books, return chromebooks and chargers (if they borrowed one from the district) and see their teacher for end of year goodbyes. I will keep you posted on the schedule for these days soon.
The show must go on....the Sequoia Talent Show that is! As I mentioned in my assembly video, we will still have a talent show this year! More information is below for any students that would like to take part in our annual talent show, virtual style!
Lastly, happy Teacher Appreciation Week to our Sequoia teachers and to all teachers working hard in our community! We are truly grateful for the way you engage, care for, and provide community for our students and families all year long and especially during this time at home. We appreciate all you do!

Green Sneaker Challenge!
Safe Routes to School (through the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition) is holding their “Green Sneaker 30-Day Family Challenge” and they have extended their due date to May 31st .
There are Individual Challenges as well as Family Challenges. There is even a Bingo Activity worksheet that looks like a lot of fun! To find all of the directions and the various tracking sheets (English and Spanish versions available), visit their website:
https://sonomasaferoutes.org/content/green-sneaker-30-day-family-challenge
Participation is completely optional! However, those who choose to submit their completed form(s) by May 31st will be entered into a drawing where they could win some fun prizes. Also, families and schools with the most miles/steps will be announced after the challenge ends!
So, if you’re looking for a fun way to track your fitness activity during the next five weeks, then take the Individual or Family Challenge. If you’re looking to build your knowledge about bicycle
and/or pedestrian safety, health, the environment, and your community, then try the Bingo Activity. No matter how (or if) you decide to take part…
