DMS Weekly Update

Week of August 31

The first week of school went very well. Our students are practicing social distancing and wearing their masks when required to do so. They have transitioned nicely into the school year with the new procedures and guidelines! We have administered the MAP benchmark tests for ELA and Math and will now use these results to help create instructional units to grow our students academically.

As a reminder:

Our campus opens at 7:30am. As we try to socially distance our students upon arrival, we ask that parents drop off closer to 8:00am if possible. Please wait to drop off your child until you see an adult on the sidewalk in the car line. We want to make sure that our students are supervised from car line to homeroom for proper social distancing.

Big picture

Continuing to be Safe!

Please remember to review COVID-19 safety guidelines with your child. Masks are required to be worn by staff and students upon arrival to campus, during all transitions, in classrooms when up and moving around, in hallways, at dismissal, and in classrooms when proper social distancing of at least 6ft. isn't possible. All students who wish to wear their masks even when social distancing is possible, may certainly do so. Thank you for reviewing these guidelines with your child.
