War On Hunger - November 18 -22
War on Hunger
Resurrection’s House Council will be having the annual War on Hunger the week of November 18 - 22. Students are asked to bring in canned and boxed goods. This is traditionally a contest between grades to see who can earn the most points, but more importantly all items are donated to St. Vincent DePaul to stock their food bank. Please see the flyer below for additional details. Classes with the highest point totals will receive the following prizes:
2nd place: free dress and ice cream
3rd place: free dress
Change in the Weather....
Now that the weather will turn colder soon, please make sure your children are dressed appropriately. Long sleeves, uniform fleeces, uniform sweaters, or uniform sweatshirts in the building are recommended. We will be going out to recess, unless it is very cold outside. When the wind chill is above 25 degrees, we GO outside to get some fresh air and run around. Coats, hats, and gloves are strongly recommended!

NEVER TOO OLD FOR HALLOWEEN
We are accepting Halloween candy donations to be divided and mailed to our college students. Please send in any leftover Halloween candy to the school or parish office. Please also email us the addresses of any of our Parish college students, it doesn’t matter whether they are attending any of the in-town or out-of-town campuses.
Thanksgiving Break
Reminder that school will not be in session on November 27-29 (Wednesday-Friday) for Thanksgiving Break.
Christmas Program
Resurrection’s Christmas program will be on Wednesday, December 11th, at 6:30 pm in the church for grades K-3. More details to come in upcoming week’s newsletters.
Christmas "Giving Tree" Project
The Christmas "Giving Tree" project is underway once again. This year we have more homeless children and many more living with grandparents and relatives. Never doubt these children really need Christmas. As in the past, Resurrection has been very generous to the children and we feel this will be another great year. The ornaments you remove from the tree are for a designated child/teen/family. The gingerbread ornaments are for boys clothing and the angels are for girls clothing. The red bells indicate a toy or gift item and the trees are for family household items. If you cannot purchase that item, please return it to the tree so that no one will be excluded. Please return the wrapped gifts by 10:30 am on Sunday, December 15th. If you prefer, a monetary donation may be made to purchase the gifts that we may lack. Put the money in an envelope marked "Giving Tree" and place it in the collection basket and give to the parish office. Last year, with the monies donated, we were able to purchase the gifts that were not taken or returned. If you have already purchased items such as hats, gloves, underwear, socks, clothing, or toys, please feel free to donate them even though there might not be an ornament. But please tag it with size and content to be used as fillers. Any questions, please call Jennifer Baumgart 812-464-1027, Bettye Kuhn 812-963-5881, or Saundra Humm 812-963-6186.
The committee is also in need of a used bike for a 5 year old boy without training wheels. If you can help them with this item, please call one of the committee members listed above.
PE Uniforms
Please see the information below regarding PE uniforms for 5th - 8th graders. In case they have outgrown their PE clothes, you may still order at any point of the year.
Please be sure to place your order in time to have for the first day of the school year. The link to place your order is: https://carolinathreadz.com/collections/resurrection.
When you order, you may choose between 3 different inseams on the shorts. There is one shirt choice. Your order will be shipped directly to your home.
We are proud to partner with Carolina Threads, a local vendor, to make this process easier for all of us.
