PROM ** GRADUATION REMINDERS
Senior Details
Yearbooks will be distributed next week after a graduation rehearsal. Details are being finalized at present.
Seniors will have their first graduation rehearsal on Thursday, May 23 at 9 a.m., beginning in the auditorium. Seniors will sign-up for the senior stroll at this rehearsal. All seniors are dismissed at 10 a.m.
Friday, May 24 is the final day for seniors to submit permission slips for Six Flags. Please note the senior outing is for a graduating senior in good standing in the class.
Tuesday's Six Flags adventure kicks off in the cafeteria at 7:30 a.m. on May 28. ETA back to Swansea is approximately 6:30-7 p.m. Lunch is included in the student's admission ticket.
Please be prompt for your graduation rehearsal on Wednesday, May 29. Rehearsal begins at 8:30 a.m. in the gym. Please use the spectator's entrance on the "girl's side" of the gym. A reminder: no drinks or food are allowed in the gymnasium. Rehearsal should last until approximately 10:15 a.m. Students will return from Cardinal Stadium to pick up their caps and gowns as well as four (4) tickets to Commencement -- to be used only in the event of an indoor graduation due to inclement weather.
Thursday, May 30 is the final graduation rehearsal -- again beginning at 8:30 a.m. The senior stroll will begin around 10:30 a.m. See below for more details.
Graduation rehearsal is mandatory.
Class Night begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 30. Seniors must arrive by 6:30 p.m. to the gym.
Sunday, June 2 is Graduation Day. Seniors must report by noon to the gym. If you have questions regarding the venue for graduation (indoor vs outdoor), timely announcements will be made via the high school's Facebook and Twitter accounts: @josephcasehs.
No tickets are needed if the event is in Cardinal Stadium. Families are limited to four tickets should graduation move indoors to the gym because of inclement weather.
PROMenade precedes Thursday's formal event
We will be decorating the auditorium as a beautiful venue for parents and families to take pre-prom pictures in an arena especially designed for pre-Prom magic.
All prom guests must park or be dropped off in the rear of the building and use the "boys gym" entrance that leads to the shop hallway. Phase 1 of the check-in process will begin at the end of the hallway. Prom guests will fill out an announcement card of their names and proceed to the stage door. After guests turn in their cards, they will be announced onstage, Prom guest will promenade downstage and proceed to the stage right staircase and exit the rear of auditorium for Phase 2 of the prom check-in process.
The Fall River Herald News will be on-hand photographing students onstage for inclusion in the paper's online prom coverage -- available digitally that evening.
Parents may park in the teacher's lot and use the music door for access to the auditorium. This will be the only entrance way available to Case families so our established safety protocols are not compromised.
Phase 2 will check bags and belongings as well as breathalyze all student guests.
The PROMenade begins at 4:30 p.m. Students self-selected buses with specific departure times begin leaving at 5:05 p.m. and continue to depart through 5:25 p.m.
Last year's event is quickly becoming a tradition at Joseph Case High School. I am grateful for Chris Costa, Melissa Crosson and Neil Jeronimo for their help and input in designing this event.
Back by popular demand: Senior Stroll
Seniors will sign up on Thursday, May 23. Each student will choose to visit Gardner/Brown or Hoyle/Luther as their destination after the junior high school.
We will have all seniors wear their graduation caps and gowns to inspire students in the lower grades. The event should conclude with a return to the high school by 12:30 p.m.
I hope that seniors will take advantage of this awesome opportunity to celebrate and give thanks to those who may have helped them along the way in Swansea Public schools.
