"Come Apart"
In Mark 6:30, Jesus' disciples returned from a time of ministry and reported all they had done and taught. There was likely a sense of excitement as they shared, but the weight of ministry was also evident. Because Jesus and his disciples were always giving out and meeting the needs of others, their spiritual tanks were running on empty. Jesus recognized the problem and offered a solution - "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest," or as one Bible teacher said, "Come apart with me or you'll come apart!"
As God's people seek to be faithful in ministry and service, investing themselves in the lives of others; the need is great to have some times of spiritual refreshing where we can get away from our routines, meet with God, and allow Him to refresh our souls. Our district camps provide just such an opportunity as you will see in the following articles.

FINISHED PROJECT
S.E.R.V. (reported by Ben Roed)
Youth Camp 2018 was held in Bedford, IA and provided campers from Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa an opportunity to worship the Lord through song and teaching. Using Matthew 20:28 as a focus, teens were challenged with the importance of living a life of service and modeling the attitude of Jesus who came to earth to serve rather than to be served. There were fun times of interaction with one another, but significant opportunity was given to put into practice the principles being learned. The campers worked together to build a bridge that would serve the Bedford community and in the process they discovered that they do not have to wait to be the Body of Christ because they can actively engage in building God's kingdom now! It is so encouraging to see a generation willing to take the baton and run with the Gospel wherever the King of Kings might lead.
