We are having many events as the year comes to a close. We will send out pre-registration links so that you can get your stickers earlier. If you do not pre-register, you will have to wait in line to get that processed.

• The area to the east front of the school is a designated bus and daycare vehicle drop off and pick up point. Please refrain from dropping off your students there or parking there. | Por favor de no estacionarse or dejar a sus estudiantes en el area de autobuses.

• We are aware that many parents must drop their children then get to work. This is not a viable reason to speed through the parking lot or disregard any traffic control device; i.e. traffic signal or sign. Please be cognizant that children do walk from between vehicles and your speed should allow you to be able to stop quickly. Children are in crosswalks at traffic signals and it is imperative that drivers comply with signal lights and crosswalks.| Somos conscientes de que muchos padres deben dejar a sus hijos para luego irse a trabajar. Dear Parent/Guardian,

The end of the school year is quickly approaching. If your student has medication in the clinic, please make arrangements to pick it up by 12:00 pm on May 24, 2023. Medication remaining in the clinic past this time will be discarded.

Prescription medication MUST be picked up by a parent or guardian, with the exception of EpiPens and inhalers.

Students will be allowed to pick up over-the-counter medications along with EpiPens and inhalers, at the end of the day on the last day of school, with a parent-signed permission slip.

Please send the signed permission form to school with your student or email it to mtomme@bisdmail.net.

-Fever is 100.0 or higher. Must be fever free without fever reducing medication (such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen) for a full 24 hours before returning to school.

-Vomiting and/or diarrhea in the past 24 hours

- Red eyes with discharge.

*encourage students to wash their hands often, use hand sanitizer, and cover their mouths and noses when they sneeze or cough.

We will be allowing 2 parent/guardians to attend the holiday parties with their students. They are from 10:30-11:30 AM on May 24.

Please note:

In order to minimize the amount of visitors moving around the building, if you need to go to another grade level party, then that will only happen at 11AM when the hall monitor escorts you to that location. Students may NOT go to another grade level's party.

Permitiremos que 2 padres/guardianes asistan a las fiestas con sus estudiantes. Son de 10:30 a 11:30 el 24 de mayo. Early sign outs will happen in the classroom. The office will provide each teacher with a form and “signed out” passes. If you would like to sign your student out early, you can do so with the teacher. They will give you a pass which you will present to our hall monitor in order to exit. Each kid needs a pass.

Burleson ISD Standardized Dress Code 2022-2023

Burleson ISD’s standardized dress guidelines are established to teach grooming and
hygiene, prevent disruption, and minimize safety risks.

General Guidelines

Students must wear clothing that fits appropriately:

• Shirts must touch the waistband in the front, back, and sides.
• Pants, jeans, shorts/skirts must reach mid-thigh or longer, when fitted at the
  natural waistline. Should pants/jeans have frays, rips, or tears above mid-thigh,
  leggings must be worn underneath. Leggings/yoga pants may only be worn (other
  than under pants/jeans) if a shirt/dress that reaches to mid-thigh is also worn.
• Shoes appropriate for outdoor and indoor activities.

Students may not wear:

• Accessories that could pose a risk of danger to others;
• Items with provocative, offensive, violent, or drug-related pictures or slogans as
  well as those advertising alcoholic beverages or tobacco products;
• Pajamas or slippers; or
• Swimsuits (unless required as part of a school activity).
  

Please note: all building administrative decisions regarding student dress are final.
Students who disregard the dress code will be subject to disciplinary interventions.
Clothing approved under previous standardized dress guidelines remains appropriate for
school wear.

What is PTO?

• PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization and it is group comprised of parents and teachers dedicated to improving the educational experience of all students.

What is the time commitment?

• Getting involved in the PTO does take a certain amount of commitment – but YOU get to decide how much or how little time you dedicate. We will have different meetings where we will discuss the events or activities that we want to focus on for the remainder of the year and for the next year.
  

How to help?

Child Nutrition Update - The Child Nutrition Department has migrated all programs to the TITAN Platform at https://family.titank12.com/. Here, parents can apply for free and reduced price meals, add money to a student’s account, monitor student’s transactions, and see our most up to date menu. Additionally, the TITAN Family Connect App is available from the Apple App Store and Google Play. Parents can take care of all their Child Nutrition needs directly from their mobile device. Additional information is available on the Child Nutrition website or by contacting the department at X1008.

Hello 5th Grade Parents! All of our STAAR Tests are complete for the 22-23 School Year! We are looking forward to the next 12 days of fun learning and preparing for the transition to middle school .
