On-Boarding for New Joiners

The new ‘on-boarding pack’ is now live. Consultants joining the HSBC account will now benefit from a pack that aims to cover some basic facts about HSBC and useful information that will help them get up and running as quickly as possible.

Developed by Paulo Pereira, the deck includes an HSBC overview, the day-to-day basics and answers to many common queries.

There is also a complimentary ‘on-site’ document to be used as an induction guide and as a valuable ‘aide memoire’ on HSBC basics such as raising GSRs and booking rooms etc.

Links to these documents will be sent to new joiners during their on-boarding process, for everyone else if you’d like a reminder or your still in the process of on-boarding then you can download them from the CIT group.

Contribution Round Tables

I hope all of you had a lovely break and are happy to be back at work. As I'm sure all of you will know, the start of the year can be a very busy period with both the performance and contribution round tables taking place. As the performance round tables have already occurred I want to use this time to talk about the contribution round tables.

The contribution round tables focus on the additional things you have done outside your project that contribute to helping Capco as a business. It is your coach that will be representing you in the round tables, so I encourage you to meet with them as soon as possible (if you have not yet done so). Before you meet with your coach it would be useful to write a summary of your contribution for 2015.

Perhaps think of organising your activities into the following categories:

  • Interviewing
  • Recruiting
  • Training
  • Coaching
  • Account Leadership Roles
  • Business Development
  • Proposals
  • Capability Development
  • Other Community

Finally, I would strongly advise you to be as objective as possible when noting down your contribution summary. I.e. try to use numbers, percentages, success rates etc. One example would be how many interviews you have carried out this year. Instead of saying "I have taken part in interviewing new potential candidates" you can say "I have been an interviewer for 10 different potential candidates and 5 of these candidates were offered a full time job at Capco". If any of you require more information on the Capco contribution round tables please reach out to either Human Capital or you Coach as soon as possible.

Post your suggestions on the CAPCO@HSBC CIT Group and you could be in line for a fabulous prize! The caption that's received the most 'touches' by the start of the February Townhall will be declared the winner!

Health and Wellbeing

Hopefully everyone enjoyed their Christmas and New Year’s break and feel refreshed and raring to dive back in. There hasn't been much going on over the festive period but there are a couple of things I would like to draw your attention to.

Firstly, hopefully everyone has seen that the Capco Bootcamp has started up again. Run by Grant Moxham, they're held in the YMCA Central London gym, at the moment, starting at 7pm. Register on CIT if you're interested.

The second item I want to draw to your attention is Time to Talk Day in HSBC. It can be found if you look under the UK HQ intranet section. In summary, on 5 February there will be a number of employees and a life coach talking about their mental health experiences. It sounds like a fascinating event and well worth attending

If anyone has any ideas on things that we can get a group of people together to do - I have previously suggested a things like a healthy cooking course or a conversation with the Canary Wharf chaplaincy - please don't hesitate to send me a mail or grab me for a chat

Many thanks,

Matt Isted

And finally, a big warm welcome to the following new joiners...

Andrew Aickin, Emma Collingwood, Eric Lee, Jacob Rider, Jason Eden, Marouane Bakhtar, Maud Hugele, Miguela Zaga, Omair Taraq, Pablo Barreneche, Paul Conby, Priyal Sanghrajka, Robert Bradfield, Roland Inglis, Shrivas Nayar, Tom O'Neill, Tony Lo, Zineb Aquedim, Zola Du Preez, Zsuzsanna Rozmann

If you haven't done so already then please fill in the 'Introducing Blog' questions and send the answers to If you don't have a copy of the questions, then log onto CIT and you can find them in Paulo's 'on-boarding' pack.
