Bullying in Schools Today
Teen Violence
Cyberbullying
In a recent survey, teens in grades sixth through tenth are the most likely to be a victim or involved in activities related to bullying. As our technology is becoming more advanced, cyberbullying has become one of the largest forms of bullying in society today. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and many more social networking sites allow teens to distribute messages and images instantaneously to a wide audience. Studies have found that the estimated rate of cyberbullying is between 15-30 percent. In 2002, a report released by the U.S Secret Service concluded that bullying played a significant role in many school shootings and that efforts should be made to eliminate bullying behavior.
